Tulips

Tulips

For today I've prepared another short (ok, maybe not so short) video with me drawing tulips. Somehow I am usually terrible at drawing flowers. On my images they are always heavy and artificial looking. Well, drawing aside, in real life I'm not any better at handling flowers, everything in my pots is either dried or rotten. There must be something in flowers that I don't understand :D I liked those tulips though, maybe you can benefit from this short video too.

Gun

Gun

Never too many hands, I'd say. Another hand-drawing exercise and in the same time a moment spend on the gun. This was another quick sketchy exercise for me, right after hard exam (if you are wondering - I picked the topic for my exercise at random so it was a coincidence... and yes, I passed with flying colors). Anyway I was tired so it didn't go all that well but final result is acceptable so I am showing the process. Hands are tricky - sometimes easy, sometimes super hard. But that's why you practice! :)

Handshake

This time something rather quick, practice drawing for hands. Believe me, there is never too many of those exercises... I added the video to this short tutorial, I recommend watching the process, thinking about how I build shadows and lights on those hands, build their shape. I hope this tutorial will help a little bit those who (like me) have problems with drawing hands from time to time.

Drawing hands

I got the impression, that I probably should get back to the anatomy tutorials and focus on something that really is difficult. That's why this time we will take a look on this short journey through my hand-drawing learning process. I will talk about techniques, basic understanding of the structure, proportions and give some tips about the practice itself. I won't go deep into the anatomy, I won't talk much about differences in female or male hands or how hands moves and why. I will leave those for the next time. For now - the basics!

Drawing nose

Today let's try to grasp the basic structure and shape of a nose. Aim of this tutorial is very simple - after going through it you should sketch until you are sure you understand and then be able to draw nose in any shape you like (because as we all know there are lots and lots of different noses) and in any position you like. We'll see how it goes!
