Snake

Snake

Long time has passed since I've posted last portrait and I also realized, that this one, despite being quite an oldie already, hasn't been posted yet! I decided to fix that and so that's why today we will walk through this male portrait with a snake in the background. There will be a lot about drawing bones and spines, something about how to not color skin and what to do when you have anatomy issues on the face of your character :D

This time something simple and calm. I have no idea how it happened that I did not publish this tutorial until now, this picture was painted during last summer so ages ago! But still I hope that you will enjoy some of those steps, as well as the explanation. I had fun drawing this, that's for sure :)

Yeah, I know, I am terrible at giving titles, but you will have to forgive me for that... I hope that at least this tutorial will satisfying. It was quite an important picture for me. After months of drawing 'as fast as possible' I came to a sad conclusion that I have no fun from drawing. Not even a little bit. I don't even feel satisfied anymore after finishing another picture. I didn't like my works and they had no meaning nor value to me. So I decided to change my approach, my thinking - I decided to draw what I wanted to draw and only when I felt like it and to finish it only when I am happy with it, no matter how long it will take. And that's how this drawing was born :)

This was actually a break from commercial works and some other drawings. And I missed snow, enough to make a Christmas-like scene. Little lights, falling snow... They are so charming I really couldn't resist any longer, ditched my work and painted! Beside my usual jabber there is also a video for you to download and watch. It's in super speed, lasting only 7 minutes while actual footage is about 5 hours long. It's perfectly watchable but if anyone needs full length movie - just say it out loud.

Another portrait (you know I love them) and besides that - lots of Ada's red hair ;) I finished this one ages ago but somehow I didn't show it to the world. It was supposed to be a start of an art-book but oh well... Motivation and time are both long gone, for now let's forget about the art-book. Well, anyway, I have many steps for drawing hair here, maybe they'll help someone out.
