Asakusa

Asakusa

Somehow I wasn't sure what I want to paint and when I'm like that nothing usually comes right, so I decided I can struggle a bit with urban landscape and don't feel bad about the result. I never draw such things. I expected disaster. It was a huge shock that something actually came out of it. I made lots of mistakes and killed the perspective in few places but I'm still proud. I put it here for fun and to show you what could have been made better. Especially you shouldn't trust your eye and be lazy when it comes to drawing grid/lines for perspective. Or just be lazy and use the brush I give you ;)

Lake

Lake

This time another video from my daily sketches series. Well, honestly speaking, I stopped doing those sketches some time ago (lack of time) but I still have some I wish to share with you, as they might help you improve your own skills or maybe motivate you. For me this one was particularly difficult, possibly due to lack of experience in painting landscapes. But that's okay! Practice makes perfect!

Mt. Fuji

Mt. Fuji

I have no idea why this even happened, but this movie is the only one among all "daily sketches" movies, which had worse quality from the very beginning. I don't like it and I wouldn't even post it but on the other hand even though you can't see details clearly, you can still see what I do and follow along. And on top of that it corresponds nicely with me flying to Japan on Monday. This is a coincidence I couldn't ignore :D So this is something like postcard from me, or maybe a goodbye - Mt. Fuji.

Escape

Escape

I honestly don't know why I wanted to paint this scene, I guess I just wanted something slightly more complicated and forest seemed to be good enough as a challenge. It's an illustration for a story I wrote (which you can't read, sorry). I am not very happy how it came out but at least I didn't give up on it. I started painting that forest from nothing like 3 times, only after that it started to look acceptable. Let's see what made it easier for me ;)

Countryside house

Countryside house

This time something a bit different. I rarely paint landscapes, even less often architecture and that should surely change. That's why this silly house, just to practice a little. Originally I had different plans for this picture but plans have changed, drawing stayed, I figured I could use it somehow. So there's tutorial, a little something about painting trees and roofs.
